August, 1929.
Sir,
I am commanded by the Air Council to refer to previous correspondence ending with Colonial Office letter of the 20th July No. 62751/29 on the subject of the development of civil aviation in China.
I am to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that it is proposed to hold a meeting at the Air Ministry to consider the possibility of taking steps to further the interests of the British aircraft industry in this connexion.
The meeting has been tentatively fixed for 11 a.m. on Tuesday the 10th September in Room 24, Gwydyr House whitehall, and I am to enquire whether this date and time would be convenient for a representative of your Department to attend.
A similar letter has been addressed to the Foreign
Office.
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office,
S.W.1.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
Bittolloway
